"I finally realized it's a whole process for me."
Melatonin Sleepytime Tea Bedtime Stories
After years of trying to get ready for bed like 10 minutes before bed and then wondering why I can't fall asleep, I finally realized that it's a whole process for me, which is unfortunate because I sometimes, just the way my day goes, I don't have time for the full process. But over the years I've realized I have to just plan ahead. And if I want to go to bed at 10 I have to take a melatonin at 8, and then I make myself two cups of sleepytime tea and then I try my hardest for no screen time. And I get in bed and I listen to something that just kind of is soothing, and often that is some of the bedtime stories on the Calm app are amazing. And then also I’ve recently started listening to the podcast Sleep With Me and sometimes I realize I'm not even paying attention to what the guy's saying in the story. It's just like one of those voices that's a little lazy and I zone out and I drift off into sleep. And I wish I had time for that journey from 8 to 10 p.m. every day, but unfortunately, it doesn't always happen. But when I have that time, it's really improved like I get in bed and I can sometimes be asleep in 10 to 15 minutes, which used to be unheard of for me.
